Decabromodiphenyl Ethane or DBDPE is one of the most common brominated Flame Retardant additives being used since several decades. Having a Bromine content of greater than 80% this high efficiency FR additive is used in a variety of polymers such as PP, Nylon, ABS, HIPS etc. 

DBDPE works well with an FR synergist via radical quenching mechanism. It is an effective replacement to Decabromodiphenyl Ether. DBDPE does not contain the Ether functionality allowing it to degrade without the release of dioxins or furans.
